Most privacy policies are written by lawyers to protect the company. This one is written to tell you what actually happens. We run a small independent site that compares Interac casinos for Canadian players. We are not a casino, we do not hold your money, and we do not want your banking details. What We Collect (And What We Do Not)

There are two buckets. The first is information you hand us on purpose. The second is technical data your browser sends automatically when you load a page.

Information collected automatically

When your browser loads this site, our servers and analytics tools record a standard set of technical data:

• The pages you visit, how long you stay, and where you click
• The page or search engine that referred you
• Approximate location — country and sometimes province, never a street or neighbourhood

None of this is tied to your name or email. It is aggregate-level information that tells us whether our Interac payout comparison page is getting read or ignored.

Why We Collect It

Five specific reasons, and no others:

• To keep the site running. Server logs help us spot broken pages, slow load times, and errors.
• To improve the content. Analytics tell us which guides Canadian players actually finish reading, so we can spend more time on those and less on the ones nobody opens.
• To pay for the site. Affiliate tracking is how we earn a commission when someone clicks through to a casino and signs up. Without it, there is no site.
• To reply. If you email us, we use your address to write back.

The Legal Basis Under Canadian Law

Canada's federal privacy law, PIPEDA, requires a lawful reason for handling personal information. Provincial laws in Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta add their own rules. Our reasons are:

• Consent. When you continue browsing past the cookie notice, you consent to analytics and affiliate cookies. You can pull that consent back at any time.
• Legitimate interest. Running a functional website and understanding aggregate traffic are legitimate business interests. They do not override your privacy rights, and we keep the data minimal because of it.
• Legal obligation. Where Canadian law requires retention or disclosure.

Cookies: What We Set and Why

There are three types of cookies on this site. None of them track you across the wider web for advertising purposes.

• Essential cookies. These remember your cookie preference so we do not ask you again on every page. Without them, the site cannot function properly. You cannot opt out of these.
• Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled. It tells us which pages get read, how long visitors stay, and which country they came from — at an aggregate level. No personal profile is built, and we cannot identify you from the data.
• Affiliate cookies. When you click a "Play Now" or "Visit Casino" button, an affiliate network sets a cookie containing a referral ID and a timestamp. This tells the casino that the visit came from us. It does not contain your name, email, or banking information.

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all have clear settings for this. If you block everything, the site will still load and the content will still be readable — you will just lose the convenience of saved preferences.

How Affiliate Links Work

This site is funded by affiliate partnerships with online casinos. When you click a link to a casino and later sign up or deposit, we may receive a commission. You pay nothing extra — the commission comes out of the casino's marketing budget, not your balance or your bonus.

Here is exactly what the affiliate network sees when you click: a referral identifier, the page you clicked from, the approximate time of the click, and your IP address. What they do not see from us: your name, your email, or anything you have typed into this site. Once you land on the casino's own website, their privacy policy takes over. We have no control over what they collect, and we strongly recommend reading their policy before you deposit.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. That is not a talking point — it is a factual statement about how this site operates. We share data only in these specific cases:

• Service providers. Our web host, analytics provider, and email service process data on our behalf under contracts that restrict what they can do with it.
• Affiliate networks. As described above — a referral ID and a click event, nothing more.
• Legal requirements. If we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or lawful request from a Canadian authority, we comply. Where legally permitted, we will notify you before doing so.
• Business transfer. If this site is ever sold or merged, visitor data may transfer to the new owner, who would remain bound by this policy or a substantially similar one.

Some of our service providers are based in the United States, which means your data may be stored or processed outside Canada. Where that happens, we rely on contractual safeguards and select providers with recognized privacy frameworks.

How We Protect What We Hold

The security measures in place are proportional to the small amount of data we actually handle:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption on every page, so traffic between your browser and our server cannot be read in transit
• Restricted admin access — only team members who need access to the backend have it
• Regular software updates and patching on the hosting environment
• No storage of payment information, because we never receive any
• Internal guidelines for handling any personal data that does reach us

How Long We Keep Things

We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:

• Email correspondence: up to 24 months, then deleted unless there is an ongoing legal reason to keep it
• Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics 4, then automatically purged
• Affiliate click data: governed by each affiliate network's retention schedule, typically 30 to 90 days
• Server logs: 30 to 90 days, then rotated and deleted

Your Rights Under Canadian Privacy Law

Under PIPEDA and the applicable provincial privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
• Correction. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
• Withdraw consent. Pull back your consent to analytics or affiliate cookies at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits.
• Deletion. Request that we delete your personal information, where we are not required to keep it.
• Explanation. Ask how your information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
• Complaint. File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

A Note for Quebec Residents

Quebec's Law 25 gives residents additional rights, including the right to data portability and the right to request that we stop disseminating personal information. You can also ask for information about how automated decision-making affects you. We do not use automated decision-making on this site, but if that changes, this policy will be updated. To exercise Quebec-specific rights, write to [email protected] and mention Law 25 in the subject line.

Age Restriction

This site is for adults. Online gambling in Canada is restricted to people aged 19 or older in most provinces (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International Visitors

This site is aimed at Canadian players. If you are visiting from outside Canada, your information will be transferred to and processed in Canada and possibly the United States. By using the site, you consent to that transfer. If your local laws give you stronger rights than PIPEDA, we will honor reasonable requests on a case-by-case basis.
